Delhi University MA Course Details

Distance learning has become a trend nowadays, as more and more students are taking admission in the universities through distance learning. Types of Programme in MA

Eligibility Criteria

  • For MA (Hindi): The student should have aggregate 65% marks or above in BA (Hons.) Hindi from Delhi University.
  • For MA (History): The student should have aggregate 60% marks or above in BA (Hons.) examination in history from Delhi University.
  • For MA (Political Science): The student should have aggregate 60% marks or above in BA (Hons.) Political science from Delhi University.
  • For MA (Sanskrit): The student should have aggregate 60% marks or above in BA (Hons.) Sanskrit from Delhi University.

Fee Structure

  • For Category A (Indian) students the fees is Rs. 5,800/-
  • For Category B (Students residing abroad and getting mail through the diplomatic bag C/o Ministry of external affairs) students the fees is Rs. 5,300/-
  • For Category C (Indian Nationals who are residing abroad and the foreign nationals seeking admission through Deputy Dean, foreign students registry office, university of Delhi)   students the fees is Rs. 14,300/-

The span period for post graduate courses is four years from the date of admission at School of Open Learning.

Passing Criteria

The minimum marks for passing the examination in each semester will be 40% marks in each exam, also there are only 3 chances for the students to pass any paper within the span period.

Documents Required

  • Current Two passport size photographs.
  • Class 10th Certificate.
  • Class 12th Certificate.
  • 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year mark sheet and if the third year result is awaited, then the students should have to submit the third year admit card.
  • Provisional Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate, if applicable.
  • Income Certificate, if applicable.

Subjects per Year

  • For MA in Hindi, there are total 7 subjects in the first year and 11 subjects in the second year.
  • For MA in Sanskrit, there are total 8 subjects in the first year and 16 subjects in the second year.
  • For MA in Political Science, there are total 8 subjects in the first year and 20 subjects in the second year.
  • For MA in History, there are total subjects in the first year and 8 subjects in the second year.

Fee Concession

  • Students whose family income from all sources is below Rs.8000/- per month and who have studied in a government school will be considered for this facility.
  • SC/ST students are free from the payment of tuition fee.

  1. The fee structure is feasible. It is around 14000 rupees per year for Masters student with absolutely no extra charges. The low fee structure is due to tej college being under Delhi university which is a central university funded by central government.
